TIPP Convention

The centre is a wide building with two wings leading off on either of a central mezzanine area. During the convention this main staging area is home to various porcelain crockery of plates, ornate hand fans, cutlery, bowls all painted in various styles by Thai artists. Turn left to see works by the competing artists from Brazil, Mexico, USA, Japan, Australia, China, and Thailand.

To the immediate right is the tutorial area where you can have a go at painting cups and other porcelain objects under the instruction of one of the international artists.

Up on the second floor is an impressive collection of Khon masks, featured in the traditional Thai theatre performances. Directly above the lobby are the two rooms where the international artists will give tutorials throughout the day. Each artist will give two demonstrations each over the weekend, lasting roughly an hour. Demonstrations start at 10:30 and run till 15:30 across both rooms. All the artists will be around on both days either in one of the demonstration rooms, at the DIY zone, or at their own booth with their award-winning works of porcelain art. Those interested in purchasing any of the pieces can contact the desk upon arrival and the curator will accompany you and assist you in making your choice.

On Monday, for the closing ceremony, the convention will host a gala dinner attended by HRH Princess Sirindhorn.
